“Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.”
- 1 Timothy 4:13
Public Reading of the Scripture
Kingdom Commission Outreach | February Series
Join Kingdom Commission Outreach every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:30 a.m. CST throughout February for our Public Reading of the Scripture. This sacred practice invites the people of God to gather and hear the Word read aloud just as God’s people have done from ancient Israel to the early Church.
Scripture was never meant to be encountered only in silence or isolation. From Deuteronomy 31, Nehemiah 8, to 1 Timothy 4:13, the public reading of Scripture has been central to the formation, instruction, and renewal of God’s people. When the Word is spoken aloud, it is heard, received, and embodied within community.
Theologically, God’s Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12). God creates by speaking (Genesis 1), sustains by His Word (Hebrews 1:3), and brings faith through hearing (Romans 10:17). As Scripture is read aloud, the Spirit bears witness, faith is stirred, hearts are aligned, and God’s purposes are proclaimed in the earth.
Come listen, read, and proclaim the Word together, allowing Scripture to shape our minds, strengthen our witness, and anchor us in truth as we begin each day on mission.
